Poconos Honeymoon - Land of Love

Did you know the Pocono Mountains is often referred to as "The Honeymoon Capital of the World" or the "Land of Love"? As a matter of fact, in 1963 Life magazine included a photo of America's first heart-shaped tub that was located in what is now knows as "Caesar's Cove Haven," a couples-only, all-inclusive Poconos Resort.

The romance continues to this day as over 200,000 honeymooning couples each year choose to begin their married life in the Pocono Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania, which boasts 2,400 square miles of wooded peaks and valleys with crystal clear lakes, rushing rivers, and some of the most spectacular waterfalls in the eastern United States.
,br> You can choose from adults-only, all-inclusive resorts such as Caesars Cove Haven on Lake Wallenpaupack, Caesars Paradise Stream, Mount Pocono, or Caesars Pocono Palace, Marshall's Creek (800-805-3559). Or, if you don't mind a more family atmosphere, you can choose from one of a number of couples and family resorts the Poconos offers.

A Review of Popular Poconos Resorts

Author: Elizabeth Morgan

Where to stay before planning your vacation to the Poconos, will be the first thing on your mind. Resorts offer the comfort of a home away from home -- that's why so many people choose to stay there.

The legacy of Poconos resorts commenced in 1945 when Rudolf Von Hoevenberg opened "The Farm on the Hill," a resort for honeymooners. Soon, other honeymoon resort owners followed and by the 1950's, resorts in the Poconos became a lucrative business. There are so many resorts to choose from that one would have to make their decision carefully to ensure that it caters to the needs of all involved.

Resorts at the Poconos are available for both family and couples only. For couples, resorts like Caesar's Resorts and Paradise Stream are just some of the places that are poised to make your stay a memorable one. Families on the other hand can put together reunions at one of these family-oriented resorts:

Fernwood Resort Situated in Bushkill, Pennsylvania, this resort is equipped with spacious and classy looking rooms with choices of a villa, 1 or 2 bedrooms, traditional suite and even a studio. Rooms start at $129 in the mid-week and can go up to $299 per night. Among the amenities one can enjoy here include the fitness centre, indoor and outdoor pools, basketball, tennis and nature trails. The above-mentioned activities are included in your room charge.

Skytop Lodge Located on 5,500 acres, this resort has standard rooms and mini suites and cottages. Nature programs are included on weekends with a naturalist and other activities are indoor swimming, picnics and trout fishing.

Woodlock Pines Resort Hawley, Pennsylvania in the Northern Pocono Mountains is the home of Woodlock Pine Resorts, a 250-acre resort that sits on a private lake. Families can enjoy lake activities, kids programs, water skiing, a nightclub, pools, arcade, and miniature golf.
